It encompasses various aspects, from permit acquisition and enforcement to visitor parking and special event considerations.
Compliance with Regulations
The College expects strict compliance with state, city, county, and campus traffic rules and regulations from all students, faculty, staff, and visitors. Understanding and adhering to these rules is crucial to avoid penalties and ensure a smooth parking experience.
Parking Permits: Responsibility and Replacement

If you are in an accident, your car is sold, your windshield is replaced, etc., you must remove your permit and put it on your next vehicle or your new windshield. Lost, misplaced, forgotten, stolen, etc., parking permits will be replaced at full or pro-rated price.
Permit Purchase and Designation
Permits may be purchased in advance of deadlines and are also available throughout the year. Parking lots and parking permits are designated as “Commuter” or “Residential.” These designations are shown on the campus map, and there are corresponding signs in the parking lots. Commuter parking lots are designated as no overnight parking.
Specific Permit Costs
- $46.00 per year (September - April) or $23.00 per term (Fall or Spring).
- Motorcycles must park in designated motorcycle parking areas. $140.00 per year (September -April) or $70.00 per term (Fall or Spring).
Day Use Permits for Organizations
Organizations may purchase single use day parking permits in advance of an event from the Fort Lewis College Police and Parking Services Department, to distribute to their guests. The parking permits are single day use permits only. Day use permits are only valid if the current date is written on the permit. Any alterations/corrections to the day use permit will render it invalid. Organizations may also refer their participants to ftlewisparking.com or by visiting the Fort Lewis College Police and Parking webpage Short Term Parking Permits.
