Understanding Dynamic Pricing
Single-game ticket prices are subject to dynamic pricing, meaning prices can be raised based on various factors. Fans are encouraged to buy early in order to obtain the lowest prices available. There are no refunds and no exchanges on any ticket purchases. Dynamic pricing is the continuous adjustment of ticket prices based on such factors as available inventory, opponent, team performance and weather. It is widely used by professional sports organizations and is now being adopted at the collegiate level.

How Dynamic Pricing Works
Beginning at the time of the general public on-sale, prices can be adjusted in $3 to $5 increments and will not increase more than five times on any given day. A team of five Purdue students from the Krannert Experiential Initiative made the recommendation to utilize dynamic pricing, after compiling and analyzing single-game sales data from the last 10 seasons and sales from the secondary market over the last three years. They also talked with other universities that have implemented similar strategies.
Key Points about Dynamic Pricing
- Dynamic Pricing will apply only to single-game prices.
- Ticket prices can change at any time.
- Prices can vary by category.
- Purchasing season tickets is the only way to guarantee you are getting the best price.
- Premium seating areas such as the Shively Club, Buchanan Club and Suites will not be affected.
- Promotional pricing for family four packs, Boiler Kid's Club, etc. will not be affected.
