South University’s history began in Savannah, Georgia in 1899 with the establishment of Draughon’s Practical Business College. Founded by Dr. John Draughon, the institution focused on teaching the fundamentals needed by successful businesses including accounting, banking, shorthand, bookkeeping and typewriting. Over the years, South University has evolved from a one-location campus to a multi-campus University system, which currently has 11 locations.

The WELL in partnership with Campus Recreation offers fitness opportunities for students, faculty and staff. The WELL Fitness Center is a 12,000 square feet recreation center featuring state of the art fitness equipment, group fitness classes and full-service locker rooms with showers. In addition to a dedicated group fitness room, The WELL Fitness Center offers a multitude of Technogym® cardiovascular equipment, including web-enabled treadmills, stationary bikes and stair steppers.
