Access for Alumni

Graduates of Rush Medical College, the College of Nursing, the College of Health Sciences, and the Division of Translational Science (formerly the Graduate College) retain access to Rush’s library services and facilities. While alumni privileges are limited, they include the ability to borrow books from Rush’s collection and consult with reference librarians. Standard local borrowing policies and fines apply to alumni users. Access to the library’s physical space and in-person services is available by appointment only, with a recommendation to schedule at least three business days in advance.

Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI)

VDI hosts virtual applications, including a virtual Windows 10 Desktop (My RUSH PC). Accessing applications within VDI requires installing the Citrix Workspace application on a device. VDI, and therefore My RUSH PC, can be accessed on any device with an internet connection, a modern web browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge), and the Citrix Workspace application installed. My RUSH PC can be accessed through MyApps.Rush.edu after the Citrix Workspace is installed.

Usernames

Most usernames follow the format of the first initial and up to seven characters of the last name. For shorter and common last names, numbers may be added at the end of the username (e.g., clewis34).

Library Resources

The Rush University Library, located in the Armour Academic Center at 600 S, offers a variety of resources. These resources include reference services, program or subject-specific resources, and assistance with databases and other tools.
