Diverse Academic Programs

PSGCAS offers a wide array of programs across various disciplines. Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.)

Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com)

The B.Com degree is a 3-year graduate degree that allows students to specialize in commerce, covering core subjects related to commerce and finance. Students can choose from elective subjects as well. A B.Com Professional Accounting degree is a 3-year undergraduate course that deals with the study of accounting, finance, marketing, economics, management, and other financial matters. It aims to train students in theoretical and practical aspects related to financial analysis, creative thinking, communication, interpersonal, mathematical, and accounting skills.

Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.)

The BBA program is designed to equip students with essential management skills. For the academic year 2024, the total fee for the BBA program is approximately INR 1.87 Lakhs for the entire 3-year duration, including tuition fees, exam fees, library charges, and other academic and non-academic charges. Compared to some other UG courses at PSG College, the BBA fees are on the higher side, reflecting the specialized training in business management it provides.

BBA in Retail Management is a 3-year undergraduate professional degree awarded after successful completion of a three-year program or course of study in the field of retailing that includes principles of retailing and retail operations. The degree covers the study of different parts of a retail operation, including buying, marketing, merchandising, operations, inventory control, personnel, and finance.

Bachelor of Vocation (B.Voc)

PSGCAS offers four B.Voc programs, including B.Voc. Banking, Stock and Insurance is a 3-year undergraduate course. M.Phil and Ph.D. Programs

M.Phil Programs

M.Phil programs are offered in various disciplines, including:

Admission Process

PSG College of Arts and Science has a structured admission process that is primarily merit-based for undergraduate programs. The last date to submit the application form for the academic year 2024-2025 is typically the third day after the Tamil Nadu Higher Secondary Examination (TNHSE) results are announced, until 5 PM. After registration, candidates must fill out the application form with their academic details and submit necessary documents. Direct admission is not typically available, as the selection process is largely merit-based. However, certain courses like MSW and MA (Journalism and Mass Communication) require an entrance exam, and candidates must participate in the counseling process.

Infrastructure and Campus Life

PSGCAS offers excellent infrastructure, including state-of-the-art classrooms, seminar rooms with contemporary amenities, and a GRD Memorial Auditorium for cultural and academic events. The college also provides sports facilities and hostels for students. The college provides a clean, green, and pollution-free environment for an effective learning experience. The college has a separate faculty of commerce, with a separate block named as "School of Commerce" with a total area of 2.75 lakh sq.ft. It has 85 classrooms, four computer laboratories, and two conference halls. Other than that there are 10 blocks with specific departments, GRD Auditorium, Library hall, three conference hall, Indoor Basketball, Volleyball, Badminton stadium is available and there is a full athlete track ground. The Library built up area is 24,500 sq.ft. with the seating capacity for about 400 readers with a collection of over 120,000 volumes on different subjects.

Wizards and Heartbeat are the annual inter-departmental cultural competitions and Cascall and Euphoria are the annual inter-college cultural competitions. Other festivals include "Gateway", state-level inter-collegiate technical festival by Department of Computer Science. Department of Visual Communication organizes a short film festival, "Pathivugal". Phoenix and LitZeal are the annual inter college literary fests,"Blizzard" inter collegiate BPS fest by Department of Commerce with Business Process Service.

Placement Record

PSG College of Arts and Science has an impressive placement record, particularly for its management courses like BBA. In the academic year 2023-2024, a total of 196 companies visited the college to recruit students, including those from the BBA program. The highest package offered for BBA students was 13 LPA, with an average package of 3.64 LPA. According to the NIRF report 2022, the placement percentage was between 50-70% in the academic year 2021-2022. Top recruiters like ONGC, HPCL, IPC, etc., come for on-campus placements.
