Prestige Learning Institute: Empowering Families Through Education and Community

Prestige Learning Institute (PLI) is a registered 501(c)(3) organization, EIN 82-3224098, and an equal opportunity employer. For over 14 years, PLI has been dedicated to helping families find hope and community through accessible programs and meaningful relationships, ensuring they are Strangers No More to Jesus. PLI exists to glorify God by educating, equipping, and ministering to immigrant and refugee families, empowering them to thrive in the US. When immigrant and refugee families come to America, they’re looking for a peaceful and prosperous life but often struggle to adjust to life in America, feeling overwhelmed and alone. While they have many practical needs, their ultimate need is to know the peace and joy that comes from God. PLI has walked alongside families for more than 11 years meeting physical, emotional, and spiritual needs through our programs and deep relationships.

Core Programs and Initiatives

PLI empowers families by providing essential resources and support through a variety of programs designed to meet the unique needs of each family member. These programs include:

  • After-School Program: Supporting students academically, identifying social and educational goals, and encouraging positive character development.
  • Children's Program: Providing trauma-informed care for young children and preparing them for school.
  • Community Events: Gathering together to build meaningful, lasting relationships.
  • ESL Program: Teaching English as a Second Language.
  • Men's Program: Promoting authentic friendships, supporting life transitions, and equipping men for career and educational opportunities.
  • Teen Girls' Program: Supporting high school girls, ages 12-19, academically and socially.
  • Women's Program: Providing essential resources including basic literacy and ESL classes, community, and conversation practice.

Women's Program: A Closer Look

The Women's Program at PLI is particularly vital, providing essential resources including basic literacy and ESL classes, community, and conversation practice. The program focuses on building relationships with the women, offering support as they navigate life within the USA. Dedicated staff and volunteers make home visits and help families make connections with community resources. From providing encouragement, celebrating the birth of a child, and mourning with those experiencing tragedy, PLI walks beside clients in all of life’s circumstances.

Community Nights

Women's Community Nights are usually the last Monday of every month for women and their teenage daughters (no men or younger children). Participants are invited to enjoy this special time over a potluck meal where everyone brings food to share. These nights offer a time of friendship and conversation for the women in the community. Community Nights are held Last Monday, monthly at 7:00 PM. Childcare is offered as space is available, and a small tuition/fee is required.
