Noble Academy: Empowering Students with Learning Differences – An Overview of Admissions, Tuition, and Educational Philosophy

Noble Academy, a specialized learning disability school in Greensboro, is committed to both the remediation of areas of weakness and the celebration of areas of strength. At Noble Academy, students with learning disabilities are no longer different. The academy offers a college preparatory program that serves children in grades K through 12. Students at Noble Academy interact with others like themselves and find both academic and social success.

A Supportive Educational Environment

Making solid decisions about a child’s education is one of the most important things parents will do in their lifetime, especially for a child with specific educational needs. It is Noble Academy’s mission to empower students with learning differences to pursue their highest potential within a comprehensive, supportive educational environment. The school provides small class sizes, and its curriculum is traditional, though infused with techniques and methodology proven to be successful with its students.

Who are Noble Academy Students?

Noble Academy caters to a unique student population. While all students benefit from the Noble Academy program, there are specific characteristics that define an ideal candidate:

  • Average or Above-Average Intelligence: A Noble Academy student's cognitive and verbal abilities should be in the average range or above. Through our inquiry and application process, students are evaluated to ensure they are a good fit with Noble Academy.
  • Learning Differences: The academy specializes in serving students with learning disabilities.
  • Exclusions: In addition, Noble Academy does not specialize in serving students identified with an autism spectrum disorder.

The Admissions Process: A Step-by-Step Guide

Noble Academy employs a comprehensive admissions process to ensure that each student is a good fit for the school's unique environment. Here's a breakdown of the steps involved:

  1. Initial Inquiry: Complete the online inquiry form or contact the Admissions Office by telephone.
  2. Contact from Admissions Office: The Director of Enrollment Management or an assistant will contact you shortly after receiving the online inquiry or a phone message in order to guide you through the next steps.
  3. Parent/Guardian Tour: A parent/guardian tour will be arranged when you are contacted by the Admissions Office.
  4. Online Application: Parent/guardian must fully complete the online application, attaching all applicable requested documents.
  5. Application Fee: A non-refundable application fee of $80.00 is required by credit card or bank account when submitting the online application.
  6. Admissions Committee Review: The Admissions Office will meet with the Admissions Committee to discuss the applicant’s file. The Admissions Committee, during this meeting, will review information in the file to determine if the school is a good fit for the student.
  7. Student Shadow Visit: The student shadow visit allows the applicant the opportunity to experience a regular school day in their current grade level. Shadow visits can range from 1-3 days.
  8. Post-Shadow Visit Review: After the Student Shadow Visit, the Admissions Committee will meet to review faculty feedback and make a decision to extend the Student Shadow Visit or accept/not-accept. All communication will be reported to the parent/guardian by the Director of Enrollment Management.
  9. Tuition Assistance (If Applicable): An accepted student may be considered for tuition assistance. All parents/guardians requesting tuition assistance must complete the FACTS online application. FACTS reviews the financial data and supporting documentation and using a standardized calculation determines what a family’s contribution should be. At a later date, the Tuition Assistance Committee will then meet to review the FACTS reports and determine award amounts. The FACTS reports only offer a guide and final award determinations are made by the Committee.
  10. Enrollment Agreement and Deposit: Consideration for admission to Noble Academy is based on a review of requested documents. The online enrollment agreement and a $2,500 non-refundable deposit and New Student Fee ($1,000 deposit toward tuition and $1,500 for the one-time New Student Fee make up the $2,500) are due within 14 days of acceptance.
