Sanibel Island Farmer's Market
Every Sunday from November through April, residents and visitors can enjoy fresh, local produce, seafood, baked goods, and more at the Sanibel Island Farmer's Market. Located at City Hall on Dunlop Road next to the Sanibel Library and BIG Arts, the market is a vibrant hub for the community. Thanks to the hard work of organizers Betsy Ventura and Jean Baer, Sanibel residents benefit by selecting fresh local fruits, vegetables, flowers, seafood, breads, cheeses, soups, pastas, jams, nuts, honey and many organic products at the Farmer's Market! Located on Dunlop Road by Town Hall and BIG ARTS, the market is open from 8:00am to 1:00pm every Sunday until Easter.
Fourth of July Celebration
Sanibel Island offers a small-town, old-fashioned Fourth of July celebration complete with a parade, float judges, free hot dogs, and fireworks. The parade route begins across the street from Bailey's General Store on Tarpon Bay Road, proceeds down Periwinkle Way, and ends at the intersection of Casa Ybel Road at Jerry's Plaza. Following the parade, free hot dogs and snow cones are provided by the local Boy Scout Troop at Jerry's. The fireworks display takes place off the causeway in San Carlos Bay at sundown. Popular viewing spots include the Sanibel Dunes Golf Club and the Sanibel Causeway Islands Park.
