- South Carolina: The Mississippi State University license plate is available to all South Carolina residents. You must submit a completed Application of Special Plate (SCDMV Form MV- 95) along with required fees to obtain your license plate.
- Texas: Get your Texas license plate today! The plate is a partnership between the Alumni Association and MyPlates, which produces a wide variety of specialty tags for Texas drivers. The Texas tag can be purchased and personalized on MyPlates.com.
- Alabama: MSU License plates are available in Alabama to be issued to private passenger automobiles, pickup trucks, motorcycles, pleasure motor vehicles (i.e., recreational vehicles). $50.00 for pre-numbered or personalized plate.
- Tennessee: The annual fee is $56.50 - 80% of the additional $35 collected is allocated to the Tennessee Arts Commission and 20% to the Highway Fund.
- Washington, D.C.: You can proudly drive around our nation's capital and show support for your alma mater.
- Louisiana: As of March 2024, MSU license plates are now available in Louisiana! To order a plate, go to www.expresslane.org and select Vehicle Registration Renewal. Under Vehicles there will be a tab labeled Plates. Please select Special & Personalized Plates. You will then click the Special Plates link found on the right side of the webpage. Select continue to enter your current license plate number, and then select Universities/Colleges. Mississippi State University will appear in the scroll menu. Select it to view an image of the plate and an estimation of fees. Please follow all necessary steps to submit the form and payment.

Costs and Beneficiaries
When you purchase an MSU plate, $25 of the $35 purchase fee is given back to the university to support student scholarships and programming. For each plate sold, $25 goes directly toward scholarships and student programming for current MSU students. Total costs and fees may vary depending on your vehicle, but the MSU license plates cost $35.

Personalization and Ordering
For an additional pro-rated fee, your plate may be personalized. Check for the availability of a personalized plate using Plate it Your Way. Personalized plates may only be ordered at a Secretary of State office. If paying by check or money order, make payable to the State of Michigan. - Will I get to choose my plate number? Unless you request personalized plates, your new number will be assigned by the Secretary of State computer system.
