A special beeper service is available for visitors who are waiting to hear about patients who are in surgery.
Amenities
For your convenience, there are three ATMs representing different banking options located in the University Hospital. The Landmark Bank machine is located in the lobby between Lakota Coffee and Mizzou Pharmacy. The Central Bank of Boone County has an ATM in the main hallway outside of the Security Office. Members of the Mizzou Credit Union may use the Credit Union exchange (CUE) machine that is across from the physician lounge in the hallway leading to the CS&E building. Hospital volunteers provide a cart stocked with complimentary books and magazines for your reading pleasure. University of Missouri Health Care knows that a simple gift can brighten a patient's day.

MU Family Medicine physicians provide care for indigent and medically underserved families in the Columbia area through the Compass Health Network (formerly Family Health Center).
Supportive and Palliative Care Program
MU Family Medicine physicians team with nurses, a chaplain, and a clinical social worker to offer supportive and palliative care services to patients and families. The palliative care team helps patients/families address needs such as symptom management, determination of healthcare goals, clear communication, and support near end of life.

Department of Surgery: Advanced Surgical Expertise
The Department of Surgery at the University of Missouri includes eight core divisions, each led by a dedicated team of physician-scientists. These divisions cover a wide range of surgical specialties, providing advanced care and innovative treatments.

Division of Acute Care Surgery
The Department of Surgery’s Division of Acute Care Surgery combines the disciplines of emergency general surgery, trauma care, critical care, elective general surgery and burn. A multidisciplinary team provides patient care, outreach education, and resident and fellowship education, including ACGME-approved surgical critical care fellowship positions. Faculty members are active in both clinical and basic science research. As the only burn center in the region, MU is also a leader in the treatment of patients with burn injuries. Surgical intensivist coverage in the Trauma-Surgical ICU is coordinated through our division.
Cardiothoracic Division
The Department of Surgery's Cardiothoracic Division is home to the first open-heart procedure performed in mid-Missouri in 1958. Since then, we have become well-known as one of Missouri’s most active and respected cardiothoracic referral centers.
Pediatric Surgery
Pediatric surgeons at the University of Missouri have detailed experience in caring for infants and children, both in Neonatal and Pediatric Intensive Care Units and outpatient settings.
Plastic Surgery
Our plastic surgeons perform reconstructive surgery to correct birth defects and defects associated with disease or trauma. We also perform aesthetic and cosmetic surgery and have a special interest in hand reconstruction and craniofacial surgery. The Plastic Surgery residency program is a pioneer of the integrated resident pathway.
Surgical Research
The purpose of the Department of Surgery Research Division is to promote the overall research program in the Department of Surgery.
Urologic Surgery
Our urologic surgeons are experts in urologic oncology, renal transplant and infertility. Infertile men and their spouses are seen in a joint setting with gynecologic infertility specialists.
Student Health Center Services
The Student Health Center at the University of Missouri provides a range of healthcare services to students, ensuring their well-being and academic success. The Student Health Center is accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC) which ensures the healthcare we provide is high quality and meets national standards. If you need assistance immediately, the University of Missouri has resources available 24/7 to ensure students have the support they need from on-call clinicians to nurse advice.
Allergy Injections
Allergy injections are available for students with antigen and personalized protocol orders from an allergy specialist. The Student Health Center does not perform allergy testing. Your allergist will send orders directly to the Student Health Center and the allergy nurse will consult your allergist for any shot-related issues.
International Travel
The Student Health Center provides information and advice to students for international travel, both for a study abroad program and leisure. Students can make an appointment with a provider for travel education, immunizations, medications and pre- and post-travel health exams necessary for worldwide destinations. Complete the Pre-Travel Appointment Worksheet. After documentations are received, a staff member will contact you to set up an appointment with a primary care provider. The appointment may take up to one hour.
Flu Shots
Flu shots for Mizzou students are covered by the student health fee. Mizzou Student ID required. No appointment needed. Flu shots available to all faculty and staff with proof of insurance.
ADHD/ADD Medication Policy
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD/ADD) is commonly treated with medications regulated by the government. To ensure the safe and legal use of these medications the Student Health Center has established policies to guide their prescribing.
