General Information and Policies
Enrollment and Payment
Payment for Continuing Education courses at MCC is due upon enrollment. It's important to note that these courses are not eligible for financial aid or free community college benefits. Students cannot attend a class without prior registration. However, some programs may offer payment plans to ease the financial burden. To make a payment, individuals can call the provided phone number. Tuition vouchers may also be used for approved noncredit courses, either online or as indicated in specific course descriptions or on the community education web page. Regardless of payment methods, all associated costs must be met by the College.
Refund Policy
The refund policy for Community Education and Training noncredit courses is available. Refunds are processed by the MCC student accounts office, requiring several days for processing. It's crucial to understand that program instructors are not responsible for reporting decisions to withdraw from a course. Students must take the necessary actions to officially withdraw and initiate the refund process.
Course Cancellations
MCC reserves the right to cancel courses due to insufficient enrollment, instructor illness, or unforeseen circumstances. In the event of a cancellation, the college will attempt to notify students 3-5 days prior to the course start date, provided they have appropriate contact information from the enrollment center. Cancellation announcements may also be broadcasted on local AM radio stations, including WRKO-680, WCAP-980, and WBZ-1030.
Locations and Modalities
MCC offers a variety of learning options, including online and classroom instruction at the Bedford and Lowell campuses. The college also has staff positions at both locations.

Trades and Technical Skills
Air Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration Technology: These courses are designed as short-term training options for individuals exploring a career path in heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVAC-R) and electrical programs before enrolling in a certificate, diploma, or A.A.S. program.
Apprenticeship: MCC supports registered apprenticeships, which are industry-driven, high-quality career pathways.
Computer-Integrated Machining: This program prepares students with analytical, creative, and innovative skills to take a production idea from concept through design, development, and production, resulting in a finished product. It focuses on cutting-edge technology and prepares students for high-demand industries such as aerospace, medical devices, and renewable energy.
Electrical Systems Technology: Build a foundation of electrical/electronic skills to begin work in the layout, installation, and maintenance of electrical/electronic systems.

Electronics Engineering Technology: This curriculum prepares students to apply basic engineering principles and technical skills to become technicians who design, build, install, test, troubleshoot, repair, and modify developmental and production electronic components, equipment, and systems.
Fire Protection Technology: The Fire Protection Technology curriculum provides individuals with technical and professional knowledge to make decisions regarding fire protection for both public and private sectors.
Firefighter Training - Basic: Basic Firefighter Training prepares students with the essential skills required as an entry-level firefighter.
Mechanical Engineering Technology: This curriculum prepares students for manufacturing, automotive, aerospace, motorsports, or service sectors through the study and application of Engineering principles from computer-aided design (CAD), computer-aided manufacturing (CAM), rapid prototyping, and reverse engineering processes.
Welding Technology: The Welding Technology curriculum provides students with a sound understanding of the science, technology, and applications essential for successful employment in the welding and metalworking industry.

Healthcare
CNA - Nursing Assistant I: This course provides training in basic care for adults and the elderly.
Clinical Medical Assistant: This course provides instruction of clinical skills performed in medical offices including aseptic technique, infection control practices, EKG monitoring, CPR, phlebotomy, wound care, and vital signs.
EKG Technician: This course provides training in the principles of EKG, cardiac rhythms, and includes instruction in the anatomy and physiology of the heart.
Medical Aide: This course provides the opportunity for Nurse Aides to expand their skill set to work in long-term care facilities.
Medical Coding Basic: This course provides entry-level training in the fundamentals of coding and billing for a career as a professional coder in healthcare settings.
Medical Office Administrative Staff Training (MOAST): This course provides training in the skills required to work in the front office of medical practices, including medical terminology, anatomy/physiology, billing/coding, electronic records, and various office procedures.
Paramedic: This program provides advanced training in airway management, cardiac care, trauma interventions, pharmacology, and patient assessment.
Pharmacy Technician: This course prepares the student to function efficiently and safely in a variety of pharmacy settings.
Phlebotomy: This course provides theory and clinical practice for the safe collection of blood and other specimens.
Other Programs
Certified Production Technician: This collaboration prepares students for successful careers in manufacturing. Upon successful completion of the course, the student receives the nationally recognized credential of the Manufacturing Skill Standards Council Certified Production Technician (CPT).
Cosmetic Arts: These programs prepare students for careers in beauty and wellness through hands-on training and industry-focused coursework.
Detention Officer: This certification course is offered under guidelines and requirements as set forth by the North Carolina Sheriffs’ Education and Training Standards Commission.
Early Childhood Education: This curriculum prepares individuals to work with children from birth through eight in diverse learning environments.
Emergency Telecommunicator: Training is designed for personnel responsible for receiving and transmitting a request for public safety assistance through 911 Centers.
High School Equivalency and Basic Skills: The Basic Skills Program assists students in improving their reading, writing, and math skills.
Law Enforcement Training - Basic: This training is designed to give students the essential skills required for entry-level employment as a law enforcement officer.
Motorcycle Safety: These courses are designed to give hands-on experience in a safe atmosphere for both beginner and experienced riders.
Specific Instructor Positions
- R.N. Instructor for Nurse Assistant/Home Health Aide Program: Provide lecture, skills lab, and clinical training for a 100-hour program.
