Application Process

To begin the application process, prospective students should:

Complete the Manhattan Tech Application: Create an account and submit the Manhattan Tech Application at engage.manhattantech.edu/apply, along with either a waiver code or the required fee. After submitting the application, allow approximately 30 minutes for the checklist to update. Make sure all information is accurate-especially your name. Whatever you enter on your application becomes the official name on your Manhattan Tech account.
Complete Required Forms or Checklist Items: After submitting the application, the status portal will display required college and program-specific checklist items, any forms that still need to be completed, and application status updates. It is important to check back regularly for updates.
Request Official Transcripts: Request an official high school transcript from the last high school attended (for GED transcripts, visit Request a GED). Also, request official transcripts from all colleges attended. The School Code is 005500.
Schedule an Appointment with an Academic Advisor: After all applicable admissions requirements have been completed, the admissions office will notify the applicant to schedule an appointment with an academic advisor for enrollment. Appointments can be booked online.

MHK and SLN Pathway Programs with K-State

Manhattan Tech has partnered with Kansas State University (K-State) to offer the MHK (Manhattan) Pathway program. Under these new programs, the MHK Pathway program and SLN Pathway program, eligible students who do not meet the academic requirements for admission to K-State as degree-seeking freshmen will be able to live in a K-State residence hall, participate in university programming and experience K-State student life their first year, all while completing courses concurrently at either Manhattan Area Technical College or Salina Area Technical College.

Program Overview

The MHK and SLN Pathway programs are collectively just one way K-State demonstrates its commitment to educational access, as the programs have the potential to support hundreds of students each year who may not have believed a bachelor’s degree was within reach. This partnership helps students meet the admissions criteria needed to open the door to a K-State degree.

Eligibility and Requirements

Students who apply for spring 2026 freshman admission to K-State but do not meet the academic requirements for admission will be reviewed for program eligibility. While participating in these one-year programs, students will be required to take a minimum of three credit hours at K-State and nine transferable credit hours at Manhattan Tech or Salina Tech per semester during the fall and spring. MHK and SLN Pathway students will pay tuition and fees for the respective courses taken at both K-State and either Manhattan Tech or Salina Tech.

Student Experience

Pathway students live in a residence hall on campus at K-State in Manhattan or Salina, located only a short distance from either Manhattan Tech or Salina Tech. On-campus living is one of the most important experiences for a first-year college student.
