Indiana State University Federal Credit Union (ISU FCU) offers a wide array of services designed to meet the diverse financial needs of its members. These services range from traditional banking solutions to innovative digital tools, all aimed at providing convenience, security, and value.

Core Banking Services

Foreign Currency

For members traveling abroad, ISU FCU provides a foreign currency service that allows them to purchase foreign currency, offering a convenient and secure alternative to exchanging money at airports or overseas locations, where fees can be excessive. It's important to note that ISU FCU does not exchange foreign currency; it only facilitates the purchase of foreign currency. Orders can be placed in person during regular business hours, Monday through Friday, and are typically fulfilled within 1-2 business days.

Money Orders

ISU FCU issues money orders for amounts up to $1,000. These must be purchased in person with available funds, providing a secure method for sending payments.

ACH Origination

Automated Clearing House (ACH) origination services are available for members who need to transmit money electronically between financial institutions. This service is particularly useful for processing regular recurring payments, such as credit card bills or loan payments.

Safe Deposit Boxes

To safeguard valuable documents and possessions, ISU FCU offers safe deposit boxes. These boxes are rented annually, with the fee automatically debited from the member's account. The cost varies depending on the size of the box. These secure storage options provide members with peace of mind, knowing their important items are protected around the clock.

Shared Branching

ISU FCU participates in the CO-OP Shared Branch Network, giving members access to over 5,000 locations nationwide where they can conduct transactions as if they were at their home branch. This network provides unparalleled convenience for members who are traveling or have relocated. At shared branches, members can make deposits, transfers, account inquiries, and more. To access these services, members need their credit union name, account number, and a government-issued ID.

Beginning May 1, 2025, an additional layer of authentication, called IDCheck, will be implemented at out-of-state shared branch locations. This system uses a QR code and one-time passcode multi-factor authentication to verify members for transactions like loan payments, cashier’s checks, deposits, withdrawals, transfers, and account inquiries. Members can locate a shared branch using the CO-OP Shared Branch locator tools, including phone (1-888-SITE-CO-OP), mobile app, or the internet.

Insurance Coverage

Deposit accounts at ISU FCU are federally insured by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) up to $250,000 per ownership category. Individual accounts are insured for an aggregate total of $250,000, while joint accounts receive an additional aggregate total of $250,000 in coverage. IRA accounts and revocable trusts are insured separately for the same amount. Joint owners do not have to be married to receive these coverage benefits. For deposit accounts exceeding the NCUA's maximum coverage, Excess Share Insurance (ESI) provides an additional $250,000 in coverage at no direct cost to the member.

ISU FCU also provides Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) Insurance Coverage to account holders age 18 or older. Members are automatically eligible for $1,000 of AD&D insurance, with the option to purchase additional coverage up to $300,000. Premiums for this additional coverage are deducted from the member’s Share (Savings) or Share Draft (Checking) accounts every three months.

CUOnline Account Access

CUOnline Account Access, ISU FCU's online banking platform, allows members to manage their finances from anywhere at any time. This service provides a range of features, including viewing account balances and transaction history, transferring funds between accounts, online bill payment, and access to e-statements. CUOnline enhances security through encryption, ensuring that members' financial information remains protected.

CUOnline Features

  • Bill Payment: A free service for paying bills quickly and securely, with options to schedule recurring payments and verify past payments.
  • E-Statements: Secure and eco-friendly access to account statements online, with the ability to view, print, or save the last twelve months of financial statements.
  • Loan Payments: Members can make loan payments from non-ISU FCU accounts through CUOnline by selecting the Loan Payment option under External Transfers.
  • Money Management: A tool within CUOnline that provides insights into spending habits, helping members track and manage their finances.

Mobile Account Access

ISU FCU’s Mobile Account Access brings banking services to members' smartphones, offering easy and convenient access on the go. The mobile app is available for both iPhone and Android devices. Members without CUOnline Account Access must enroll before logging into Mobile Account Access.

Mobile/Online Banking Account Deletion

ISU FCU provides a method for users to request the removal of their mobile and online banking accounts and associated data. Upon a valid request, the credit union will delete all associated data held in its digital and internet banking system, ensuring that the data is no longer accessible.

Additional Services

Smart Option Student Loan® by Sallie Mae®

ISU FCU partners with Sallie Mae® to offer student loans designed for undergraduate, career training, and graduate students. These loans feature competitive interest rates, multiple repayment options, and no origination fees or prepayment penalties. ISU FCU is compensated by Sallie Mae for the referral of loan customers. Applications are subject to a minimum loan amount of $1,000 and are based on credit and other eligibility criteria.
