For those seeking the ultimate test of their skills, the Gauntlet mode stands out as a high-stakes, intensely competitive experience.
Ultimate Team: Building Your Dynasty
Before diving into the specifics of the Gauntlet, it's important to understand the fundamentals of College Football Ultimate Team. You'll begin with a starter team, likely featuring players from your favorite school. From there, you'll improve your roster by earning coins and packs through various activities.
Challenges: These are scenarios that task you to complete specific on-field objectives. With over 100 Challenges available at launch, you can sharpen your skills and master playbooks while reliving iconic moments from college football history. "In Case You Missed It" (ICYMI) Challenges will allow you to relive memorable moments from the last decade of college football.
Objectives: Completing daily and seasonal objectives earns you XP for your Field Pass, which unlocks Player Packs and Coins.
Marketplace and Auction House: Use the Coins you earn to acquire packs in the Marketplace or bid on specific players in the Auction House. New players are introduced weekly.

Team Building: Chemistry is key, and in College Football Ultimate Team, you’ll reach higher Chemistry tiers by putting Players in your lineup with matching Chemistries to boost your player’s attributes. Scheme and Team Chemistries will play a role in building your team.
Scheme and Team Chemistry: The Keys to Victory
Chemistry plays a vital role in maximizing your team's potential. College Football Ultimate Team features both Scheme and Team Chemistry, allowing you to tailor your team to a specific playstyle.
Scheme Chemistry: All Player Items and Playbooks will be associated with one of 19 schemes, influencing how your team performs on the field. Experiment with different schemes like Run 'n' Shoot, Air Raid, Option, or Power Spread to find the one that best suits your playstyle. By having players of matching Chems in your lineup, players of matching Chems will gain attribute boosts. Offense Scheme Trials and Defense Scheme Trials will allow you to experience each scheme and see how it plays with your squad before committing to a specific style. The first Challenge of each scheme will give you the opportunity to earn a Scheme Specific Playbook of that Offense or Defense.
Team Chemistry: All Player Items will have a default 'Team Chem' from the school they represent. However, Player Items will have access to all 134 Team Chems, so you could build a Theme Team, even full of rivals. Once you unlock a Team Chem bucket on a Player Item, you'll be able to replace the current Team Chem with the one of your choosing.
Player Items: Player Item Fronts highlight key attributes based on the archetype and position of that player. With a flick of the right joystick you can flip the Player Item to see what Abilities are currently equipped. As you equip new Abilities and replace others, you will see those represented on the player item. Abilities can be turned active in your lineup by allotting the required AP amount. Lineups cannot exceed the AP point limit. Spend ‘Training’ that unlocks Ability buckets. These buckets house the different abilities that the Player Items can equip.

Gauntlet Mode: The Ultimate Challenge
For those seeking the ultimate competitive experience, College Football Ultimate Team offers a brand-new mode called the Gauntlet. This is where you'll put your skills and team-building prowess to the test against the best players online.
Entry Requirements: Every Friday, enter the Gauntlet to take on the best the mode has to offer online. You can earn a Gauntlet entry by competing in Champs during the week or by paying a coin entry.
Champs: In Champs, you’ll play a maximum of 20 games against others, but getting 16 wins in the current week’s Champs event will be all you need to enter the Gauntlet. Champs is an online head-to-head game in Ultimate Team. Players compete in a maximum of 20 weekly matches and must win 16 to earn a Gauntlet entry token.
The Stakes: The Gauntlet is a high-risk, high-reward mode. You must achieve 10 wins to become a Gauntlet Champion. However, if you suffer two losses, your Gauntlet run for that week is over.
Rewards: Becoming a Gauntlet champion earns you significant rewards, including coins, national champion packs, and exclusive players. Champs and Gauntlet offer rewards for winning, including coins, national champion packs, and exclusive players.

Preparing for the Gauntlet: Building a Championship-Caliber Team
Before jumping into the Gauntlet, it's crucial to build a strong and well-rounded team. Here's a strategy to maximize your chances of success:
Master the Fundamentals: Complete Challenges to improve your skills and earn coins and packs.
Complete Objectives: Focus on daily and seasonal objectives to earn XP and unlock valuable rewards through the Field Pass. The ‘Orientation’ Field Pass will be available on launch. The Orientation Objectives and Challenges will help you get familiar with Ultimate Team and jump start your team.
Dominate Solo Seasons: Play Solo Seasons to hone your skills and earn rewards against AI opponents. Go 5-0 in your season and get a bye for the playoffs, compete for the championship, and get ready to do it all over again. Solo Seasons is completely repeatable and offers greater rewards as you progress in each season!
Strategic Team Building: Focus on building a team with strong chemistry, both in terms of scheme and team affiliations. Sets will allow you to take lower OVR players and exchange them for a player with a higher OVR. This is a great way to find use for some of the players that may have fallen out of your lineup and are no longer needed. To help you decide who to place into a Set, we will suggest the lowest rated items that meet the Set requirements and allow you to redeem with a single button press. New Sets will be introduced throughout each Season as Programs release.
Utilize the Auction House: Scout the Auction House for players that fit your team's needs and budget.
Practice and Refine: Play regular-season games to fine-tune your strategies and identify any weaknesses in your team.
Additional Game Modes:
H2H Seasons: For those who enjoy playing vs others online, College Football Ultimate Team has the more traditional modes in H2H Seasons, where you’ll play through a season, make the playoffs, win championships, and move up in divisions for even better rewards.
Squads Regular Season: If you want to squad up with your friends, check out Squads Regular Season where each player takes on an assigned role of the team as the Offensive Captain, Defensive Captain, and Head Coach.
House Rules: With House Rules, you’ll be able to play games with unique twists to the traditional football rule set. House Rules will rotate in and out throughout a Season, so be sure to check your Live Events tab. Examples include Touchdown Tango - 25 Yard first downs AND 14 points for a touchdown, and Overtime - Play the iconic College Football overtime against other players!

Throughout the year, there will be new and exciting live content updates. Be on the lookout for new challenges, players, game modes, rewards and store offers! Ultimate Alumni are returning to their stomping grounds in Season 1 of College Football Ultimate Team. Here the top players from previous college entries will make an appearance, and give opposing fans headaches once again. Leading up to the Season, there will be highlighting incredible stories and the players who were a part of them! New Challenges, Players, and Sets will become available. Be on the lookout for your favorite Conference and check out the Challenges to relive some of classic moments from each! ICYMI will bring you up to speed on the last decade of college football. Legendary All-Americans will be returning to campus and be highlighted during launch week.
