Clarity Financial Aid determines eligibility based on a comprehensive assessment of household factors, including income, debts, assets, and family size. More than a third of families qualify for an award, demonstrating the Academy's commitment to affordability.

Applying for Financial Aid

Parents seeking financial assistance can apply for a financial aid grant directly from the Academy's budget. To apply, parents can file an application through School and Student Services by creating an account via the provided link.

Fletcher Academy also makes provisions for students on financial aid to contribute to their education by working extra in the summer and over some of the breaks during the school year. This commitment and even sacrifice, by student and parents, may be part of the requirement for receiving financial aid and is part of the partnership between parent, student, church, and school.

North Carolina School Choice Programs

North Carolina offers two programs that expand school choice for eligible students in kindergarten through twelfth grade:

  • Opportunity Scholarship: This scholarship can cover tuition and required fees at participating nonpublic schools.
  • Education Savings Account+ (ESA+): Formerly the ESA and Disabilities Grant, this program can also cover tuition and required fees at participating nonpublic schools, as well as certain other expenses related to educating a child with a disability.

Fletcher School participates in both programs. The award amounts, eligibility requirements, and application timelines differ, so families should research both options thoroughly. We encourage families who could benefit from this scholarship to consider applying directly with the state. Applying for this scholarship can be done before your student has finished the admission process with Fletcher Academy.

Medical Tax Deduction

Families may benefit from a medical tax deduction, as The Fletcher School’s tuition and any related educational costs, including transportation, may be considered medical expenses for tax purposes.

Payment Plans

Parents may choose one of the following payment plans for their portion of the student charges. Ten Monthly Payments: Under this plan, parents will pay the Entrance Fee and Room Deposit, plus 1/10th of the net charges to be paid by the parent at the time of registration.

  • Church Matching: If a church chooses to support a student financially, it can be included in the financial plan through the Church Matching Request form. When a student is identified as having significant financial need, Fletcher Academy may match the gift of eligible churches.
  • Sponsor Matching: If a sponsor chooses to support a student financially, it can be included in the financial plan through the Sponsor Matching Request form. Students can give these sponsor forms to extended family and friends that know you personally - folks who would want to see you succeed in life.

Work-Study Program

Fletcher’s work-study program makes provision for every student to spend part of each school day working in addition to attending classes. We believe students who are committed to developing their God-given talents and enhancing their relationship with Jesus should not be turned away from Fletcher Academy because of finances. We commit to having sufficient work and justified, need-based financial aid to assist such students. This commitment requires a partnership between the parent, student, church and school.

Alumni & Endowed Scholarships

Alumni & endowed scholarships are usually awarded during the financial planning process depending on the criteria set-up by the donors. Student Aid Applications are used to determine need. All eligible students are automatically considered. No additional application is required for these scholarships. Academic scholarships for incoming students will be awarded based on standardized test scores from the previous school year. These GPA scholarships are renewable based on GPA.

Dual Credit Classes

Dual Credit classes are taught on the Fletcher Academy campus by our teachers who are approved as adjunct university faculty. Some classes may not be available each year. Students enrolled in Dual Credit classes pay a small percentage of regular college tuition charges and full-price for all textbooks. Full payment is due to Fletcher Academy prior to the beginning of all Dual Credit classes. Payment may not be charged to the student’s account. Students must meet the minimum GPA and assessment test requirement.

  • Human Anatomy and Physiology: This class is a comprehensive study of the anatomy and physiology of the human body. Areas of study include cells, tissues, skin, skeletal, muscular, nervous, sensory, and endocrine systems.
  • Academic Reading and Writing: This course introduces students to the demands and conventions of academic reading and writing. It broadens students’ knowledge and skills about writing and analyzing various texts so they can adapt to the diversity of reading and writing tasks encountered across the college curriculum and beyond. Instruction on the stages of writing process, from prewriting exercise through drafting and revision, forms a key part of the curriculum.
  • Pre-Calculus: This course covers the real and complex number systems; algebraic equations and inequalities; functions and their graphs including polynomial, rational, exponential, and logarithmic functions; inverse functions and their graphs; conic sections; systems of equations; matrices; sequences; the binomial theorem. Special emphasis will be given to problems and techniques that relate to calculus.

College Credit by Examination

Many universities offer college credit through interactive online courses for high school students. Payment and registration arrangements must be made directly with respective institutions. Interested students are advised to discuss all such classes with our registrar. Most university’s want students to earn college credit through class participation. However most permit some credit can be earned by examination. The rules and specific limits vary, so students are encouraged to read their respective college catalog. Each college has their own allowed tests and required scores to receive credit.

Admission Information

Student applicants should possess a current diagnosis of Specified Learning Disability and/or ADHD (Inattentive, Hyperactive-Impulsive, or Combined). TFA does not specialize in serving students identified with autism spectrum disorder. A student's verbal and cognitive abilities should be in the average to above average range. At Fletcher, we do not specialize in serving low-verbal students or those identified with an intellectual disability. Additionally, students at our school must independently negotiate space and manage all bathroom / personal hygiene needs without assistance. A child's developmental history and professional recommendations must emphasize academic need - not emotional or behavioral need. We do not provide therapeutic services, and we do not support special behavioral accommodations. Individuals with school-related behavioral challenges are strongly discouraged from applying.

Admission Process

The admission process at Fletcher Academy involves several steps:

  1. Initial campus tour and interview with parents.
  2. Student partners with a peer ambassador for a school visitation day.
  3. Parents complete and return admission application and school records release. Teacher and psychological evaluations are also submitted.
  4. Admission committee reviews applicant information and informs parents of decision.
  5. \$300 non-refundable enrollment fee is collected.
  6. Placement assessments are administered.
