The My Duke Health app and portal offer a wide array of features designed to streamline your healthcare management:

- Electronic Image Transfer via Duke MyChart: Send a message through the Duke MyChart patient portal to request your images be transferred electronically to another hospital. Include the name and address of the receiving facility in your message. Request electronic image transfer for the fastest service.
- Authorization Form: Alternatively, submit an Authorization to Release Protected Health Information form to the Duke Health Information Management Department, ensuring it's signed and dated by the patient or legal guardian.
- Avoiding CDs/DVDs: Duke encourages electronic exchange of studies to avoid the issues associated with handling CDs or DVDs.
Uploading Images Electronically
- Nuance EasyCD Uploader: This tool allows you to upload studies directly to your Duke PowerShare account from your computer without needing a temporary or personal Nuance account. Your provider will see the images as soon as the upload is complete.
- Nuance PowerShare:
- Temporary Accounts: These are for facilities outside Duke that lack a PowerShare account, enabling them to upload or receive studies from Duke. These accounts are created by the Image Library Staff, are temporary (typically expiring in 2 weeks or less), and are not for patient use.
- Patient Accounts: You can sign up for a free patient account through Nuance to upload studies/images from your computer to PowerShare, sharing them with Duke or other Nuance PowerShare sites. Images are stored securely for 45 days. This eliminates the need for physical media like CDs/DVDs or USB drives. You can also receive images from Duke or other PowerShare facilities and create your own CDs/DVDs or USB drives if desired.
- Direct Sharing via PowerShare: You can call the Duke Image Library to request your Duke images be shared with other sites using PowerShare.
In-Person Disc Delivery
If electronic upload or sharing isn't possible, you can deliver a disc in person to Duke North, 2301 Erwin Road, First Floor, Room 1512-B1, Durham, NC 27710.
