A Proactive Approach to Retirement

There is a great deal to be said for making a move sooner than later when it becomes too difficult, and one can maximize their investment into the community by starting at a younger age. The concept of a early move from a resident of the Portland branch of this community who was in his early 60s. More baby boomers will consider this option at a younger age and change the concept of a retirement home as a place for people in their 70s and 80s. Although most of the people there are currently 70 and above, we noted that they were actively engaged in conversation in the dining room. Our host was an active tennis player in his 80s. We especially enjoyed the indoor pool and the special treatment we received as guests.

I have flown in to visit my parents at the University Retirement Community on many occasions. Whether they were residing in Independent Living or Mom in Assisted Living, I am very impressed with the quality of the staff working at University Retirement. So many genuinely pleasant, helpful and professional staff in one place is really quite amazing find.

Short-Term Rehabilitation at URC

I’m rehabilitating my knee here at URC following a total knee replacement. This is the second time I’ve come to URC for post-surgical rehabilitation and I recommend this facility without any reservations. All the staff care about helping people heal. They are uniformly kind and helpful. It feels like family! It is an extraordinary experience. I feel safe and well cared for. During this pandemic they have had NO corona virus infections. That is quite amazing and speaks to the dedication of the staff. The Physical And Occupational Therapy is great. Everything about URC is high class and high quality.
