SoWashCo Community Education is dedicated to serving the communities of Afton, Cottage Grove, Newport, St. Paul Park, Woodbury, as well as Denmark and Grey Cloud Island Townships, by providing lifelong learning opportunities for all. With a wide array of programs and activities, SoWashCo Community Education caters to diverse age groups and interests, from early childhood to adults 50+.

SoWashCo Community Education delivers quality education, enrichment, and athletic opportunities for all ages. Whether you're looking to acquire a new skill, prepare your child for early learning, or share your expertise with the community, SoWashCo Community Education is here to support you.
Early Childhood Programs
Early Childhood Screening is a crucial, free service that assesses a child's growth, development, and learning progress. These screenings are conveniently located in most elementary schools and the District Program Center.
Classes are available for both girls and boys, ranging from 18 months to 18 years old. The program's goal is to provide a positive, fun, and safe learning environment.
Youth Enrichment and Sports
Community Education plays a vital role in supporting youth through focused programs and opportunities. Elementary and middle school athletic programs, supervised by certified coaches, licensed teachers, or knowledgeable staff, emphasize skill development, participation, teamwork, and respect.

Pee Wee sports promote sportsmanship, physical activity, and peer interaction in a team atmosphere. Children learn basic skills through fun drills and games.
Kids Club (grades K-3) and Upgrade (grades 4-5) provide school-age child care programs for all South Washington County Schools students at every elementary school site.
Aquatics Programs
Swimming and water safety are essential life skills. SoWashCo Community Education offers a comprehensive range of aquatic programs, including swimming lessons, open swim, lap swim, certifications and safety courses, water exercise classes, lifeguard training, pool rentals, diving lessons, and special events.
Adult and Adults 50+ Activities and Classes
SoWashCo Community Education provides a wide range of activities and classes tailored for adults and adults 50+.

Throughout the year, SoWashCo Community Education offers a variety of special events and activities.

SoWashCo CARES: In partnership with the SoWashCo CARES education foundation, financial aid is provided to help students access Community Education programs. SoWashCo CARES is a community-led nonprofit that addresses student needs, creates opportunities, appreciates staff, and hosts community-connecting events.

Food and Hygiene Product Drive: Support the community by donating new, unexpired, non-perishable food items and hygiene products.
