It also created pedestrian circulation and open green spaces that connect the existing academic core to on-campus housing.

Mariner Village
Mariner Village, a 216-bed housing facility, opened in Fall 2016.
Coastal Place Apartments
The college purchased a former hotel and converted it into off-campus housing - Coastal Place Apartments. The facility offers a living experience as off-campus residential apartments for approximately 132 students.
Roommate and Suitemate Considerations
There is always an adjustment to living with new people. It is important to have open and honest communication with your suitemates/roommates. The Resident Assistants are trained to assist with conflict mediation between suitemates/roommates. In addition, after check-in, the RA will provide a suitemate/roommate agreement. This agreement will help identify living standards. During the application process, you can request or search for a suitemate/roommate. If a roommate request was not submitted, assignments are also made through an online matching process that uses that data submitted on the application under lifestyle choices. For returning housing students, housing assignments are made through a Room Selection process.
First-Year Live-On Requirement
If you are an incoming first-time freshmen, you are required to live on campus for your first year. For certain instances, an exemption may be granted. Your request will be reviewed by the Office of Residence Life and Housing, which will notify you of the decision. You must submit a First Year Live-On Requirement Exemption Form.
Housing Policies and Procedures
- Rental Rates: Rental rates vary depending upon the type of accommodation.
- Housing Confirmation Prepayment: The housing confirmation prepayment is a portion of the semester rent and confirms a student’s intent to live in campus housing.
- Financial Aid: Rent charges will be placed on your student’s account at the beginning of each semester before financial aid is distributed. If your student is expecting financial aid to pay housing rent, your student is not required to make a payment before distribution occurs. The amount of rent paid varies depending on the amount of aid received. It is your student’s responsibility to verify the student account balance after financial aid is distributed to determine if any additional payment is due.
- Check-in: You may go directly to the residence hall lobby to check-in. At that time you will complete all check-in paperwork and then gain access to the building and your suite/apartment. In addition, you will be issued keys to your room. There will be designated unloading areas. There will be signs at the residence hall indicating loading and unloading zones.
- Closing: Students may stay in the hall during the fall break, Thanksgiving holiday and spring break. There is a separate online housing application that must be submitted for winter break housing. If you are not remaining in campus housing over winter break, students do not need to move all of their belongings out of their suite.
- Renter's Insurance: Although precautions are taken to maintain security on the College campus, the College will not assume any responsibility or legal obligation to pay for any student’s personal property that is lost, stolen, or damaged from any cause, nor will the College assume any responsibility or legal obligation to pay for any injury or damages, personal or property, while the student is a resident at the institution.
- Utilities: In your rental rates, all utilities are included. These utilities include water, electric, and high-speed Internet.
- Furniture: You may not remove furniture from your room/suite/apartment. Due to fire and safety regulations you must use the furniture provided.
- Mail: Post office boxes are located in the lobbies of the residence halls.
- Telephones: The hallways in Lakeside Village include a telephone with local telephone service.
- Alcohol: No students are permitted to possess or consume alcohol, or possess alcohol beverage containers.
- Cleanliness: Students are responsible for cleaning their own rooms/suites/apartments as well as the bathrooms. Students are expected to work out an equitable cleaning schedule with fellow suitemates/roommates.
Accessibility Services
ADA accommodations are available to students who choose to self-identify and provide appropriate documentation of their disability. Documentation of the disability also needs to be submitted to the Office of Accessibility Services. Please submit your completed housing application and request for accommodations as early as possible. The Office of Accessibility Services staff will review your request and you will be contacted to discuss your requested housing accommodation.

The Office of Student Well-Being and Support is dedicated to ensuring nondiscrimination and equitable access to programs, courses, and activities for qualified students with disabilities. While documentation is not required to schedule a meeting, students are encouraged to submit documentation as soon as possible. OWBS can work with students who have never been formally diagnosed with a disability or cannot afford to get documentation.
Cancellation Policy
In order to avoid any rent charges or associated cancellation fees, please see the terms and conditions of your contract to determine cancellation deadlines. A resident’s request for release will be considered and approved only for the following six (6) reasons: (a) official withdrawal; (b) marriage; (c) non-registration for classes; (d) graduation; (e) participation in non-local College programs; or (f) call to active duty military service.
Residence Hall Staff
Lakeside Village and Mariner Village have a full-time live-in Residence Hall Director (RHD). The RHD is responsible for the overall management and daily operations of the residence halls.
Campus Facilities and Academic Resources
The College of Coastal Georgia offers a range of facilities and resources to support its students' academic and personal growth.
Academic Buildings
- The Miriam and Hugh Nunnally Health and Science Hall: This hall houses the Nursing and Radiologic Sciences program. It features state-of-the-art laboratories, observation areas, patient exam areas, a 125-seat tiered classroom, and an AV control room. Other laboratories include fundamentals, health assessment, microbiology, anatomy and physiology, chemistry, and computer.
- Coffin Hall: This building underwent a comprehensive interior renovation, resulting in improved classroom spaces and new locker room facilities to support athletic programs. The natatorium was removed and was replaced by a health and fitness and aerobics studio. A second story was constructed over the old natatorium to provide needed classroom and faculty office space.
- The Clara Wood Gould Memorial Library: This library contains a large reading room, book stack area, a computer laboratory, the Academic Tutoring and Instruction Center (ATTIC), the Writing Center, staff offices, and periodicals area. In 2019, a project funded by the University System of Georgia (USG) added 3,025 square feet and remodeled the original 30,998 square foot portion.
- Hargett Hall: This hall houses the offices of the President, Provost & Academic Vice President, Business Affairs Vice President, Academic Affairs, Business Services, Human Resources, Advancement, and Institutional Effectiveness.
- Plant Operations: This building contains offices for plant maintenance personnel, central stores, and central receiving. It also houses other maintenance shops and has a motor vehicle storage area.
- The Warehouse: This building accommodates plant operations personnel, plant operations support space, surplus storage, and records retention.
- Jones Hall and Academic Commons-North and South: The renovation project enhanced classroom, science laboratory, and faculty office space. Academic Commons-South renovations in 2015 entailed 12,796 square feet of existing academic space. The area renovated on the first floor included seven classrooms, a language lab, and nine faculty offices.
- The Correll Center for Teacher Education and Learning: This 30,000-square-foot center built in 2012 includes classrooms, seminar rooms, conference rooms, a resource room, a group study room, faculty offices, reception areas, a break room, and circulation areas that accommodate studying and lounging.
Camden Center
On the first floor, the Camden Center offers a 250-seat auditorium used for orientations, cultural events, various student events, and community events. An administrative office is open to serve students, providing registration and admission support to students and the community. On the second floor of the Center is the Library/Learning Resources Center. Computers and printers for student use are located in this area. Tutoring assistance is also provided to students free of charge. Books, research materials, magazines, and journals are available on-site, and inter-library loan services are also offered.

Support Services
The facilities on the Brunswick campus and Camden Center are supported and maintained by the College Facilities and Technology Services departments. College of Coastal Georgia accepts your Florida Prepaid College Plan; however, the owner of the account is responsible for initiating the payment and making sure Florida Prepaid knows where they are attending school. This will allow you to receive Florida Prepaid College Plan credit prior to the fee payment deadline, which reduces your out-of-pocket cost. Unrestricted Plan covers all tuition and fees up to the total plan value. Any remaining balance due is paid by the parent/student if no financial aid award is present.
If a student or his or her parent/legal guardian or spouse relocated to the state of Georgia during the 12 months prior to the beginning of classes in order to accept full-time, self-sustaining employment, and has established domicile in the state of Georgia, they may qualify for a temporary waiver of out-of-state tuition while establishing residency.
The Coastal Georgia acceptance rate is 99%. The application deadline is August 1. The net price is $12,670 per year. In-state tuition is $4,270 per year, while out-of-state tuition is $13,420 per year. The average total aid awarded is $6,148 per year.
