The American Legion Auxiliary (ALA) offers the Children of Warriors National Presidents’ Scholarship annually. This scholarship is available to the “daughters, sons, grandsons, granddaughters, great-granddaughters, [and] great-grandsons of Veterans who served in the Armed Forces” during or after World War II. In order to qualify, applicants must provide proof of their great-grandparents’ service, complete 50 hours of community service during his or her high school years and be a senior in high school at the time of application.
AMVETS Scholarships
AMVETS annually awards scholarships to Veterans/active military, their sons, daughters or grandchildren. American Veterans (AMVETS), which is one of the nation’s largest organizations for Veterans, awards the AMVETS National Scholarship to high school students to help pay for undergraduate coursework.
Tailhook Education Foundation
The Tailhook Education Foundation offers scholarships to the natural, step, or adopted son, daughter or grandchild of a current or former Naval Aviator, Naval Flight Officer, or Naval Aircrewman. Applicants must be high school graduates.

- Be classified by the institution as a Texas resident.
- Be the biological child, stepchild, adopted child, or claimed as a dependent in the current or previous tax year.
- Be 25 years old or younger on the first day of the semester or term for which the exemption is claimed (unless granted an extension due to a qualifying illness or debilitating condition).
- Have no federal Veteran’s education benefits, or have no federal Veterans education benefits dedicated to the payment of tuition and fees only (such as Chapter 33) for term or semester enrolled that do not exceed the value of Hazlewood benefits.
- Not be in default on a student loan made or guaranteed by the State of Texas.
- Enroll in classes for which the college receives tax support.

Eligibility for Spouse/Dependent:
- Be the spouse/dependent of an eligible veteran who is determined by the VA to be 100%, total and permanent, service-connected veteran or one who became totally disabled for purposes of employability as a result of a service-related injury or illness.
- Have no federal Veterans education benefits, or have no federal Veterans education benefits dedicated to the payment of tuition and fees only (such as Chapter 33) for term or semester enrolled that do not exceed the value of Hazlewood benefits.
- Be classified by the institution as a Texas resident.
- Not be in default on a student loan made or guaranteed by the State of Texas.
- Enroll in classes for which the college receives tax support.

North Carolina Scholarships for Children of War Veterans
Over 20,000 scholarships have been awarded to children of North Carolina veterans. for the services and sacrifices of its war veterans. The scholarship program applies to North Carolina schools. and the recipient has eight years to utilize the eight academic semesters. of certain class categories of deceased, disabled, combat, or POW/MIA veterans. age of 25 at the time of application. The veteran's qualifying criteria must have occurred during a period of war. domiciled and a resident of North Carolina.
Scholarships for Children and Spouses of Deceased or Disabled Veterans and Service Members (Florida)
The Scholarships for Children and Spouses of Deceased or Disabled Veterans and Service Members (CSDDV) provides scholarships for dependent children or un-remarried spouses of Florida Veterans or Service Members who died as a result of service-connected injuries, diseases, or disabilities sustained while on active duty or who have been certified by the Florida Department of Veterans Affairs as having service connected 100% permanent and total disabilities. CSDDV also provides funds for dependent children whose parent is classified as a prisoner of war or missing in action by the Armed Forces of the United States or as civilian personnel captured while serving with the consent or authorization of the United States Government during wartime service.

Rosewood Family Scholarship
Applicant must be a direct descendant of Rosewood Families affected by the incidents of January 1924. Initial Student Florida Financial Aid Application is required for verification. Applicant must not owe a repayment or be in default under any state or federal grant, loan, or scholarship program unless satisfactory arrangements to repay have been made. Tuition and fees up to $4,000. Scholarship awards are $5,000 to be made co-payable to the scholarship recipient’s institution for payment of tuition, books and supplies and may be reapplied for up to four years for a maximum of $20,000.
