Course Information

Courses listed in the college catalog are those Black Hawk College plans to offer. However, the inclusion of a course description does not obligate the College to offer the course in any particular semester. Courses numbered below 100 are considered remedial, while those numbered 100 or above are college level. Courses which include “C” as part of the number (example: MATH 108C) indicate courses in which the student must enroll in a corequisite support courses to be eligible for the college level class. Lecture hours per week refer to the normal number of 50-minute class meetings or equivalent for which the class meets each week during the semester. Some courses have Illinois Articulation Initiative (IAI) codes included, where applicable, to indicate specific content areas for transferability. 1. 2-Career and Technical Education (CTE) course not intended for transfer.

Professional and Continuing Education (PaCE)

Black Hawk College is proud of the outstanding learning and enrichment program opportunities that are offered by the Professional and Continuing Education Department. PaCE instructors are a diverse group of professionals who work hard to develop and provide a wide variety of broad-based and interesting programs for our community. PaCE Jan. CommUniversity offers classes in diverse areas such arts/humanities, personal enrichment, regional studies, and theology/spirituality. Since 1979, thousands of students have participated in this annual community program.
