Beyond Yoga: Exploring Student and Other Discount Policies

Yoga studios often implement various discount policies to make their classes and services more accessible to a broader range of individuals. Beyond Yoga's approach involves a multifaceted strategy that encompasses student discounts, loyalty programs, and special offers for veterans and seniors. This article delves into the details of these policies, shedding light on the eligibility criteria, benefits, and overall impact on the studio's community.

Financial Incentive Programs

Beyond Yoga, like many businesses, offers financial incentives to customers who join their loyalty program or participate in promotional campaigns. These programs require the customer's explicit consent, which can be revoked at any time. The details of each program are provided when it is offered. These programs are designed to offer rewards, coupons, exclusive offers, and other benefits to participating customers.

The value of a consumer’s Personal Information is dependent on a number of factors, including the ability to combine this information with a broader set of other consumers’ Personal Information, whether, and to what extent, a consumer takes advantage of or opts out of any offerings, and whether the studio is able to use the data as described. The studio's ability to create value from these programs is heavily based on the quantity of data ingested and its ability to leverage it.

Parking

For Invoke Studio (Downtown) parking is available on the streets around the building (New Jersey, Fort Wayne, Central, East and 10th), in the parking lot adjacent to the building, or at the Fire Department (across the street) after 5PM. For Invoke Wellness Center (Northside) parking is available in the parking lot attached to the building. It is recommended to remove all valuables from your car when parking at either location due to the risk of break-ins.

Class Recommendations

New clients can purchase a special offer: 2 weeks of unlimited classes for $49. Any classes listed as “level 2” are also suitable and meant for all levels. For safety, it is recommended to hold off on attending any classes listed as level 2/3 until one has a more established practice. For those interested in Pilates Reformer, the Intro to Reformer class for $15 is recommended to learn the equipment and basic moves for a regular class. If one has previous experience on Balanced Body Reformers, purchasing the New Client 3 pack for $59 is recommended. It is also recommended to take a few Level 1 classes before moving into Level 2.

Studio Etiquette and Practical Information

When attending classes, comfortable clothing that allows the body to move freely is recommended. Shoes should be removed for all classes, and socks are typically removed for mat classes. Participants are encouraged to bring their own mats for mat-based classes, though mats can be rented for $3 or purchased at the studio. The studio provides all other yoga props needed during class. Hand towels can be rented for $2, and Yogitoes towels are available for purchase. Filtered water is available, and boxed water is sold. Grippy socks are optional for reformer classes.

It is important to arrive at least 5 minutes before the start of class to avoid disrupting other students, as classes begin on time. For mat-based classes, there is a 2-hour cancellation policy; failure to cancel within this timeframe will result in being charged for the class. Invoke Warrior and annual members will be charged a $15 no-show fee if class is not canceled. Cancellations must be made online, as phone cancellations cannot be guaranteed. For Reformer classes, there is a 24-hour cancellation policy. Workshops are non-refundable and non-transferable.

A cubby area is provided for storing belongings during class. Children under the age of 16 are welcome to attend class but must be accompanied by an adult (aged 18 or older) at all times.

Student Discounts

Beyond Yoga extends a 20% discount to students under 26 years of age with a valid school ID on single classes, 5-class packages, single-month unlimited packages, and workshops. They also offer the Warrior Auto-renewal Membership for $129/month, as well as a special single-month unlimited pass for $99 for students under 26. It is important to note that student discounts apply only to regular-priced packages and cannot be combined with sale prices.

Veteran Support

Recognizing the service of veterans, Beyond Yoga is a member of Yoga for Vets and provides 2 weeks of unlimited classes for free to veterans. Beyond the initial free period, veterans also receive a 20% discount on single classes, 5-class packages, single-month unlimited packages, and workshops.

Senior Discounts

Beyond Yoga offers a special Senior 5 Class Pack for $89. This is for those ages 65+ and can be used for all of the studio's mat based classes.

Sales Policy

All sales are final, with no returns, exchanges, transfers, or sharing permitted. Packages expire 4 months after the date of purchase unless otherwise noted. Auto-renewal memberships require a 3-month minimum commitment, and cancellation requests are honored only after the first 3 months of membership. A cancellation request must be submitted 1 week prior to billing to guarantee its timely processing.

Class Cancellations

In the event of class cancellations due to inclement weather or instructor emergencies, class passes will be credited back to the user's account for future use. Cancellations are typically made at least 1 hour before the scheduled start of class. It is essential to ensure that accurate contact information is provided on the user's profile to facilitate communication regarding cancellations.

Lost and Found

A lost and found is maintained at both studio locations. Items left for more than 2 weeks will be donated. Individuals who have lost jewelry or personal items are advised to check with the front desk, as these items may have been stored in a more secure location.

General Studio Etiquette

To ensure a pleasant and respectful environment for all participants, Beyond Yoga emphasizes the following etiquette guidelines:

  • Arrival Time: Arrive on time, ideally 5-10 minutes early, to allow for check-in, relaxation, and mental preparation before class begins.
  • Shoes: Remove shoes before entering the classrooms to maintain cleanliness, as most class time is spent on the floor.
  • Cell Phones: Turn off cell phones and other noise-making devices to avoid distractions for others who may be relaxing or meditating before class.
  • Personal Space: Be mindful of personal space, especially in crowded classes, and avoid bumping into neighbors or taking up more space than necessary.
  • Studio Cleanliness: Help maintain the studio's cleanliness by putting away all blocks, straps, weights, and props after use.
  • Practice Area: Wipe up around your practice area after class, as some classes can be physically demanding and result in sweating.
  • Silence: Respect the silent time during classes, as others may be using this time for reflection, relaxation, or meditation. Refrain from talking or laughing with neighbors.
  • Scent Awareness: Avoid wearing perfume, cologne, or strong scents to class, as these can be overwhelming in a small space and may hinder others' breathing. Regularly clean mats and Yogitoes towels to maintain freshness.

Children in the Studio

Children under the age of 16 are welcome to attend class but must be with their accompanying adult (aged 18 or older) at all times while inside the studio. They may not be left in the lobby while the accompanying adult is attending class.
