Road to Glory: Finding Your Perfect Fit

In Road to Glory, players begin their collegiate journey by choosing one of five positions, each offering three distinct archetypes. These archetypes impact a player's attributes and abilities, ultimately defining their play style.

Quarterback (QB)

The quarterback position offers three archetypes: Field General, Scrambler, and Improviser.

Field General: Known for their intelligence and accuracy, Field General QBs excel at making smart decisions and delivering precise passes from the pocket.
Scrambler: These quarterbacks are mobile and elusive, capable of extending plays with their legs and making throws on the run.
Improviser: While seemingly versatile, Improviser QBs have limitations. Their attributes tend to cap early, particularly their IQ.

Recommendation: Both Field General and Scrambler archetypes are solid choices. The Improviser archetype is best avoided due to its limited growth potential.

Halfback (HB)

Pass Coverage: These linebackers are skilled in pass coverage, capable of dropping into zones, covering tight ends, and disrupting passing lanes.

Recommendation: The Pass Coverage MLB archetype is a strong choice. While starting with a low Pass Coverage rating, your Pass coverage and Run Stopping attributes can be raised fairly high. This means you'll be able to create a well-balanced MLB after some time.

Players can only reach level 50 in Dynasty which rewards around 500 total coach points to spend. That means you won’t be able to have every ability. With that in mind, securing recruits and improving on-field performance are the two best abilities.

Motivator: This archetype focuses on player morale and development, providing benefits such as improved injury boost rewards and increased in-season player XP.
Tactician: The Tactician archetype emphasizes player development through game performance, boosting player XP based on their on-field contributions.
Talent Developer: This archetype makes recruiting transfers easier and grants additional XP to players.
Architect: The Architect archetype grants additional XP for completing in-game goals and provides a chance to increase the best skill cap, which is extremely helpful in unlocking potential you wouldn’t have otherwise.
Program Builder: The Program Builder archetype focuses on long-term program growth, upgrading the school's pipeline and reducing player transfer rates.
CEO: The CEO archetype has excellent abilites such as the ability to have an instant commit when offering a scholarship as their top school, but players will have to win two National Championships first.

Recommendation: It makes more sense to get the players you want in first with attributes and play styles that better suit your scheme. Players should at least unlock Motivator as it gives XP every time one your players level up. However, the sub-abilities are rather weak, so we don’t recommend spending any other coach points on this Archetype.

Player Development: Stat Caps vs. Development Traits
