Financial Assistance Program
Belen Jesuit Preparatory School is committed to making its education accessible to qualified students regardless of their financial background. The school makes financial assistance available to all students who attend the school regardless of race, color, creed, disability, or national origin. The Financial Assistance Program takes the form of hardship assistance. Hardship assistance is determined based on financial need after evaluation of the financial assistance application.
Awards are given for one year and are not intended to cover 100% of the cost to attend Belen. The Belen Financial Assistance Program is made possible thanks to the generous contributions of friends and families of Belen. The school's fundraising events - the Annual Fr. Dorta- Duque, S.J. Memorial Tombola, the Fr. Izquierdo, S.J. Memorial Golf Tournament, and the Fr. Sardiña, S.J. Memorial Golf Tournament, help to support this program.
Applying for Financial Aid
Belen Jesuit awards financial assistance based on demonstrated need to families of accepted students in grades 6 through 12, assisting families of qualified students who would benefit from the school’s program but otherwise would not be able to afford the tuition.

To assist the school's Financial Assistance Committee in determining financial need, the school uses Clarity, an outside service that collects and processes all financial assistance paperwork. The committee thoroughly reviews all completed applications and corresponding documents promptly.
To apply for financial aid, follow these steps:
- Go to the Clarity Application website and create an account. The application is mobile-friendly, allowing you to complete it from anywhere, and you can save your progress and return at any time.
- Complete the Clarity Application. The application typically takes less than 30 minutes to complete.
- Pay the $60 submission fee at the end of the application. You can share your application with other schools that accept the Clarity Application at no extra charge.
- Return to your dashboard after completing and submitting your Clarity Application, as Belen Jesuit Preparatory School requires you to upload additional tax documentation.
Should a parent seek financial assistance for their child, the custodial and non-custodial parents must complete separate Clarity applications. Belen Jesuit considers the assets and income of both parents, if living, before considering any award.
Applications completed after the specified deadlines may be considered as long as funds remain available.
Step-Up Scholarship Program
Belen Jesuit is a participating school in the Step-Up Scholarship Program. Parents applying for financial aid at Belen Jesuit must apply for the Step Up scholarship. However, your child may not necessarily receive the types of accommodations or related services he may be entitled to receive at a public school, as public schools have different obligations under the IDEA. The IDEA does not apply to private schools.

Important Considerations
When considering financial aid, it's important to remember that awards are typically for one year and may not cover the full cost of tuition. Families are encouraged to explore all available options and plan accordingly.
Tuition Payment Options
Belen Jesuit Preparatory School utilizes the services of Blackbaud Tuition Management for tuition payments. Each family is required to enroll in automatic payments. Automatic payments can either be withdrawn from a checking or savings account or charged to a credit card.
Blackbaud Partnership
The school’s technology team partnered with Blackbaud to integrate its enrollment, tuition, and fund accounting processes and drive efficiencies for parents and staff alike. Through a partnership with Blackbaud, Belen Jesuit transformed its enrollment, tuition, and accounting processes.
The integration put an end to exporting data from the school’s enrollment management system and then uploading it into the tuition management system-or worse, manually adding it. For example, in the past, every year the staff would have to match the payment plan to the student with back-and-forth work with imports and exports. Now, it’s a one-step process.
Belen Jesuit partners with Blackbaud for its fund accounting solution as well, enabling Blackbaud Tuition Management to post payments directly to the general ledger in Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT, saving time and reducing the risk of error. Before, everything had to be entered manually.
