The Bay Ridge Prep Tigers have achieved significant success in various sports. For the second time in school history, the Bay Ridge Prep Tigers captured the ISAL Varsity Boys Soccer Championship. The Bay Ridge Prep Varsity Girls Cross Country Tigers made school history by capturing the ISAL Championship title for the first time. The Bay Ridge Prep Varsity Swimming Team delivered a strong performance at the ISAL Championship Meet, finishing 4th overall and earning several top placements in individual and relay events. Both the Boys Varsity and Girls Varsity basketballs teams made school history this season. The Bay Ridge Prep Varsity Boys Tennis Tigers made history while playing in their first ever ISAL tournament and sweeping the board. The Bay Ridge Prep Varsity Swimming Tigers dived right into being a competitive force during their first season.

Expanding Facilities and Resources

Bay Ridge Prep is committed to providing its students with the best possible learning environment. The school cut the ribbon on its new Upper School building on Shore Road. The private K-12 school bought a plot of land overlooking Shore Road Park three years ago in a bid to ease crowding at its existing buildings and make space for programs and classes. Through a fundraising campaign, the school has raised nearly $3.5 million to support the project, with additional funds provided by past campaigns and by Connect One Bank.

The new building includes features designed to enhance the learning experience. The school believes that education should not just be students sitting at desks being lectured to by teachers but for students being able to work on designing things, and being able to build things, and being able to present and defend their ideas.

After-School Enrichment

Bay Ridge Prep offers an After School Program designed to inspire and engage K-8 students with a perfect blend of homework assistance and a vibrant array of arts and athletic activities. The program runs on a seasonal trimester system. Students enrolled in the full program attend each day and participate in a daily activity for their grade level. Snacks are included. Additional fees apply for swimming and karate. Students can also enroll in individual activities for their grade level without enrolling in the after school program.

Specific after-school activities include:

  • 5th & 6th Grade Track & Baseball Clubs (facilitated by the athletics department at no cost)
  • Gymnastics, Grades 4-7 (Spring 2026, requires additional registration fee, run through the Athletics Department and facilitated by Gotham Gymnastics in Park Slope, transportation included)
  • Swimming, Grades 3-6 (Fall & Winter Only, requires additional registration fee, run by the YMCA Staten Island, transportation included)
  • Karate (requires separate registration fee, includes uniform, belt, and enrollment in World Martial Arts Association)
