Academic Programs and Opportunities

Asnuntuck Community College offers more than 50 associate degree and certificate programs, along with short-term workforce training, that result in students ready for careers, transfer opportunities and lifelong learning. Students can earn degrees and certificates in 28 different fields. Popular programs include: General Studies, Business/Commerce, General, and Liberal Arts and Sciences/Liberal Studies. The school utilizes a semester-based academic year.

Advanced Manufacturing Technology Center

A key highlight of ACC is its nationally recognized Advanced Manufacturing Technology Center. This center equips students from both Connecticut and Massachusetts with the skills necessary to thrive in the high-demand manufacturing sector. Elms College Bachelor’s Degree Completion Program

Asnuntuck Community College (ACC) partners with Elms College to offer a bachelor’s degree completion program in Social Work. This program allows students with an associate’s degree to earn a bachelor’s degree from Elms College while taking classes at the ACC campus. Classes are held on Saturdays, 8:00am - 4:30pm, and are taught by Elms faculty, in 10 eight-week sessions over a 20 month period. Students will join a cohort and remain in that group throughout the program.

To be eligible, students must have an associate’s degree (with at least 60 credits) that meets Elms College's general requirements. A college-level math is strongly recommended. The bachelor’s degree program requires a minimum of 60 Elms Credits and a Minimum of 120 Credit to Graduate with a Baccalaureate Degree. Curriculum includes such subjects as History I or II; Human Growth & Development; Fine/Performing Art. A maximum of 90 credits can be transferred from ACC or other regionally accredited colleges, but a minimum of 42 credits must be earned through Elms College.

Graduates of the social work program are prepared to take the state social work licensing exam at the L.S.W. level in Massachusetts. In addition, graduates are eligible for advanced standing in many social work graduate programs.
