Air University (AU) offers a multitude of educational opportunities, ranging from Air Force Professional Military Education (PME) courses to programs in collaboration with the Community College of the Air Force (CCAF). Admission Requirements and Procedures
General Requirements
Air University requires an official high school transcript or GED document be provided directly from the school/GED agency to the AU Registrar. Please do not send diploma/certificate. AU Registrar can verify your bachelor’s degree and you will be fully admitted upon arrival to your designated school. Air University requires an official transcript of your bachelor’s degree be provided directly from the university to the AU Registrar.
Specific Requirements for Air Force PME Courses
To enroll in Air Force PME courses, use the following procedures:
- Sign into eServices and select "Online Learning." Then select the enrollment link for the course into which you want to enroll.
- (For SOS, ACSC and AWC only) Once your enrollment request is submitted, the next notice you will receive will be from the CAP staff requesting a copy of your college transcript. To prevent a delay of your acceptance into the course you should request a transcript from your college or university if you don’t have an official copy.
- After the CAP staff receives your transcript, you will be sent an application to complete.
- When your course is successfully completed, you will receive notification from AU.
It is important to note: ACTIVE-DUTY, GUARD, OR RESERVE SERVICE MEMBERS MAY NOT RECEIVE CREDIT BY THEIR SERVICE FOR PME IF THEY DO NOT MEET THE ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS OF THEIR SERVICE, i.e. an AF SSgt who is also a CAP Captain may not receive credit for Squadron Officer School in their Air Force record.

International Military Students
International Military Students should refer to your official guidance regarding admission requirements for TOEFL and foreign credential evaluation. Air University does not accept the TOEFL Essentials test. Requests for international students must be forwarded to the Air Force Security Assistance Training Squadron through the applicable country Security Cooperation Organization or country embassy.
Requirements for Civilians
Civilians must PASS a PFA with all components within 60 days of class start date using the NEW standards (Waist-to-Height ratio, push-ups, sit-ups, 2 mile run or approved alternate exercises). The test must be administered by a unit PTL/UFPM or Supervisor and must be signed by the unit PTL or Unit/Squadron Commander.
Physical Fitness Assessment (PFA) Requirements
You MUST have a current/passing PT Test WITHOUT EXEMPTIONS on file in myFitness that lasts through your graduation date. Current Occupationally Specific Physical Fitness Assessments (OSPFAs) take the place of regular PFAs. Last PFA was EXEMPT or a pass WITH component exemptions - see ETP/Waivers section for documents required for submission. This includes exemptions due to deployments/acclimation.
SOS 26B & 26C - Your PFA is current through graduation. SOS 26D - Must pass a full diagnostic PFA with NO component exemptions using the NEW standards or submit an ETP. Air Command and Staff College Distance Learning (ACSC DL)
The Air Command and Staff College distance learning (ACSC DL) program is an intermediate developmental education (IDE) program. The ACSC DL curriculum is designed to produce a more effective field-grade officer serving in operational-level command or staff positions. The courses emphasize applying airpower in joint campaign planning and the operational art of war. The ACSC DL program is delivered online through a mix of self-paced courses and asynchronous facilitated seminars. All ACSC distance learning graduates receive Joint Professional Military Education (JPME) phase I credit. Phase I emphasizes the fundamentals needed for a sound basis in joint operations and provides a foundation for follow-on study for Phase II education. apply the capabilities, limitations, and integration of the instruments of national power across the spectrum of competition, conflict, and war.

Squadron Officer School (SOS)
Air Force Captains must have at least 4 but no more than 7 years total active federal commissioned service at class start. Waiver deadlines for SOS Classes are on the SOS Student Experience Page under "Course Dates and Deadlines" tab.
Waivers and Exceptions
All TAFCSD waivers should be routed through your MAJCOM/A1 office. -- Note: Some MAJCOMS have delegated the approval authority for TAFCSD waivers to individual Wing Commanders. SOS does not need to see your TAFCSD waiver and does not have a role in this process.
