A Message from the Executive Director

Aims Community College is renowned for its small class sizes and supportive environment. The Loveland Campus embodies these qualities, offering a welcoming atmosphere where students can thrive. The campus provides access to register for classes, meet with advisors and career counselors, and receive financial aid assistance. Students can pursue an Associate of Arts degree, Associate of Science degree, Associate of Applied Science degree, Associate of Arts Business Transfer degree, Basic Animation certificate, non-credit programming, and many other courses.

Aims provides a pathway to transfer to a four-year university or embark on a fulfilling career.

Aviation Programs at Aims Community College

Aims Community College, located in Loveland, Colorado, offers multiple Associate of Applied Science programs and flight certificates. The flight school, situated at the Northern Colorado Regional Airport (KFNL), allows for completion in two years. Aims provides 13 fixed-wing aircraft for training.

The Aims flight program is an accelerated program with varying costs based on residency. In-state and in-district students can expect to pay around $80,000 for the complete program, while out-of-district students may pay about $87,000. Out-of-state students face the highest costs, with the full program totaling almost $130,000. Private scholarships may be available to help offset these expenses.

Aims Community College offers more than 130 degree and certificate programs, covering a wide array of subjects. Advising Offices: Advisors provide one-on-one advising throughout your academic career at Aims. The Greeley Campus Advising Office is located in the Welcome Center. The Fort Lupton Campus Advising Office is in the Prairie Building. The Windsor Campus Advising Office is located in Room 305 of the Gateway Building.
Adult Learning Lab: The Adult Learning Lab is home to the Aims ELL and GED programs, where students can learn the English language or get support and instruction for completing the GED.

Aims Community College: A Historical Overview

Aims Community College was established on January 24, 1967. In 1965, Kirby Hart of Greeley proposed the idea of establishing a two-year college in Northern Colorado. Ed Beaty was appointed as the first president of Aims Community College. The first day of classes commenced on September 27, 1967, in Greeley, with an initial enrollment of 949 students. In May 1968, the first class graduated, with three students receiving degrees.

Following Beaty's death in 1975, Richard A. Laughlin was appointed as the acting president of Aims Community College. In May 1976, Laughlin was permanently appointed as the second president.

Key milestones in Aims Community College's history include:

1976: The physical education center opened on the Greeley campus.
1979: George R. Conger was appointed as Aims Community College's president.
1984: The south campus opened west of Fort Lupton.
1987: Aims opened a campus in downtown Loveland.
1992: Aims celebrated its 25th anniversary.
1997: Conger retired after 18 years as president.
2004: Aims transitioned from the quarter system to the semester system.

Accreditation and Academic Affiliations

Aims Community College is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and is a member of the North Central Association. The college also has academic affiliations as a space-grant institution.

Additional Opportunities

Aims Communication Media students have the opportunity to gain practical experience in a radio broadcast facility located on the Greeley campus. Full-time students from the University of Northern Colorado (UNC) and Colorado State University (CSU) may also enroll in one course (maximum 5 semester credits) at Aims.
