- Click the gear icon on the right side of the navigation bar to open the Gradebook Settings panel.
- In Ultra, download the Full Gradebook.
- Under Record Details choose Select All Items.
- Open the downloaded Gradebook in your spreadsheet program.
- Hide the rows of students who no longer have access to the course. In Excel and Google Sheets, right click on a row and select Hide or Hide row.
- Copy and paste the appropriate columns into your working Gradebook file. This method is best suited for smaller files.
Granting Exceptions for Additional Attempts
To grant a student additional attempts on an assignment:
- Go to the Gradebook, then the Grades view.
- Click on the cell for that student’s submission.
- From the dropdown menu, select Add or edit exceptions.
- Scroll down to Attempts allowed then use the dropdown menu to change the number of possible attempts for that student.
- Click Save. The student’s cell for the assignment should now display the dashed-clock exception icon.
Addressing "Needs Posting" Status
If a grade hasn’t been posted yet, the assignment will show in the "Needs Posting" section. To check:

- Scroll down to the Needs Posting section.
To ensure the assignment is visible to students:
- Go to the Gradebook and to the Gradable Items tab.
- Click the three dots next to an item and select Edit.
- Check the setting: open the assessment from the Content page, then click its gear icon to access the settings panel.
- If the setting is grayed out or you don’t see it, then the assessment may be incompatible with automatic grade posting.
Time Zone Display

Batch Editing Due Dates and Release Conditions

- Go to the Content page.

Important: Do not delete due dates or release conditions before using Batch Edit.

- Go to the course you wish to opt out of.
- Select the box “Opt Out of IA Program” before the add/drop date.
- Repeat this process for each course in the program.
To opt back in:
- Log into Blackboard.
- Go to the course you opted out of.
- Select the box “Opt Into IA Program” before the add/drop date.
If you decide that you do not wish to participate in this cost savings program, then you can opt out by clicking the "Grizzly Readiness (Inclusive Access)" or "Course Textbook" link in your Blackboard course and then selecting "Want to opt-out". You must opt out on or before the opt-out deadline. If you opt out, your access to the materials will be disabled soon after the opt-out deadline for your course. You will also be refunded for them.
